Mounted Harrows

Field CultivatorsSTM Mounted Harrows for Field Cultivators

McFarlane’s STM 5-bar Mounted Harrows let you cultivate and level in a single pass. This Harrow outperforms coil tine and other harrows because they closely hug the ground. The STM is heavy enough to level and stir the soil thoroughly. Yet, the flexible design of McFarlane’s STM won’t plug up with field residue. The STM is easy to use too. Directly mounting to the field cultivator eliminates the hassle of pulling a separate soil finisher or crumbler.

Features:

  • Fits virtually all makes and models of field cultivators
  • Designed for 3”, and 4” rear tool bars (special mounts are available upon request)
  • Heavy-gauge rectangular tube frame
  • Adjustable pull point for varying heights/conditions
  • 5 flexible bars to level, smooth, and bust lumps
  • Sections are suspended with hardened chain to allow full flotation and maximum flexibility for residue clearance
  • Replaceable diamond-shaped teeth made of high-carbon steel
  • Teeth are on 9” centers to prevent sections from plugging in heavy residue

8-Bar OptionSTM 8-Bar Option

The construction and features of the STM 5-bar model is available in an 8-bar configuration as well. Superior leveling action will be sure to leave the seedbed level, smooth and firm, all in a single pass when in tandem with your field cultivator.

CTM Mounted Harrows for Chisel Plows

The CTM 4-bar Harrow trails your chisel plow, smoothing and leveling ridges as you go. Fall leveling with McFarlane’s CTM helps reduce soil compaction. It increases soil absorption of winter snow and rainfall while minimizing soil erosion. The CTM is easy to use too. Directly mounting to the chisel plow eliminates the hassle of pulling a separate soil finisher or crumbler. Best of all, the CTM reduces the number of tillage trips in spring by making it easier to finish fields in a single pass.

Features:

  • Fits virtually all makes and models of chisel plows and rippers
  • Designed for 3”, 4” and 6” rear tool bars (special mounts are available upon request)
  • Heavy-gauge rectangular tube frame
  • Adjustable pull point for varying heights/conditions
  • Sections are suspended with hardened chain to allow full flotation and maximum flexibility for residue clearance
  • 4 flexible bars to level, smooth, and bust lumps
  • Flexible linkages have replaceable wear bushing
  • Heavy-duty angle tooth bars are heavy enough to level, yet won’t plug
  • 3/4” x 11” square teeth made of high-carbon steel
  • Teeth are on 11” centers to prevent sections from plugging in heavy residue

3-Bar Mounted3-Bar Mounted Harrow for the DMI Ecolo-Tiger with Disc Leveler

McFarlane’s 3-Bar Mounted Harrow attaches directly to the rear of the Ecolo-Tiger. With all the same features of the 4-Bar harrow, it provides the finishing touch necessary to help finish fields in a single pass. The McFarlane Mounted harrow prepares the soil so spring field preparation and planting can be done quicker and easier.

5-Bar Mounted
Harrow for the John Deere 510 and 512 Series Disc Rippers

McFarlane’s 5-Bar Mounted Harrow attaches directly to the rear of the disk ripper frame. With all the same features of the 4-Bar harrow, the 5-bar also features two tooth pitch settings. Pulled from one direction, the harrow offers an aggressive tooth pitch, while the opposition direction provides less aggressive harrowing. The harrow breaks apart ridges left behind the disc ripper and smoothes the seedbed for spring field preparation and planting.

Single & Double Rolling Basket Mount

Following behind your field cultivator, the wide spiral blades of the baskets toss soil high enough to separate soil. Finer, firmer soil settles into the seedbed while small clods remain on the soil surface to resist erosion, evaporation and crusting. What’s left behind is a firm, level bed ready for planting in a single pass. The Rolling Basket is the ideal tool for weed control. It provides excellent shallow chemical incorporation by taking herbicides to the proper soil depth. This tool can also be used for non-chemical weed control. The blades of the rolling basket uproot weeds intact, leaving them on the soil surface to dry and die.

Features:

  • Fits virtually all makes and models of field cultivators
  • Designed for 3” and 4” rear tool bars
  • Heavy-gauge rectangular tube frame
  • 12” diameter basket with eight 1/4” x 1 1/4” high-carbon bars
  • Triple-sealed regreasable bearings
  • Spring-adjustable down pressure for varying soil conditions and types for optimum performance
  • Available as single or double basket
  • Double Rolling Baskets oscillate to follow field contours
  • Optional 3-bar flexible harrow to further facilitate field leveling
